Volunteer Information

You never stood so tall as when you stoop to help a child

One of the most important requirements to make minor sports a success for the kids is volunteers. Minor sports would not function at all if it were not for the volunteers that contribute time and effort to assisting in running a successful program.

A parent of each child participating in the East Park baseball program is required to perform a volunteer duty for each child. In most cases, this is a 4 hour shift at one of the East Park related activities or functions.

Parents also provide a $125 volunteer commitment deposit cheque for each child registered in the program. Once a volunteer activity is performed, the cheque is given back to the parent performing the activity. Should a parent not be able to participate in a volunteer activity, the deposit cheque will be cashed by East Park. We are much more interested in having the parents follow through with the volunteer commitment vs cashing the cheque as last minute cancellations require a lot of rescheduling.

Here is a list of the different types of volunteer requirements / tasks that will need to be filled during the course of the year. Please pick something you are interested in doing. Also, please pick an alternate position in case your first choice is not available. You will provide this information during the registration process.
