2010 Divisions Information

Little League Age is determined to be a child’s age as of April 31st of the year.
So, a child born from January – April in 2004 is considered to be 6 years old.
If born between May – December of 2004, the child is considered to be 5 years old.

o    This age group of kids has approx 6 players per team with 2/3 coaches.  Batting is done from a Tee.

o    There is a Tee-Ball/Rookie, There is a one day Tournament at Rundle Park that T/ball and Rookies attend.

o    The last Monday of June we host a Player Wind-up Hotdog BBQ at the Ottewell Hall.  Players will receive their Team/Individual pictures at this time. 

o    All Tee-Ball players keep their team shirt and hat at the end of the season.

Terrace Heights School

101/98 Ave – 72 Street

o    This age group is more actively taught baseball skills and the pitching is done by a combination of a pitching machine and coach pitch.  Near the end of the season players are given the opportunity to pitch.

o    There is a Rookie Fun Tournament the end of May at Rundle Park hosted by the North Stars baseball organization.  All of our Rookie teams are invited to this event.

o    The last Monday of June we hold a Player Wind-up Hotdog BQ at the Ottewell Hall.  Players will receive their Team/Individual pictures at this time.  All uniforms must be returned.

o    All 8 year olds are given the opportunity to try out for the first level of the All Star program in July.  Coach staff will provide information as to date and time of tryouts. 

o    Registration Fee of $50.00 is required for the All-Star program along with a copy of the players birth certificate, a signed Medical Release form and 3 copies of something with your address on it (Proof of Residency).

Baseline Road & Capilano Park at

109 Ave-50 Street

o    This age group is exclusively kid-pitch.  All players on the roster bat.

o    Newly trained umpires and an experienced Umpire are at all games.  Parents are encouraged to applaud the good plays of BOTH teams.

o    Participants undergo player evaluations before the season commences.

o    A Minor Tournament sponsored by Community Park Little League is held at the end of May.  3 East Park Minor teams are invited to participate.  The Minor Director and the coaches will choose the 3 teams that will participate.  Available players from the remaining team(s) will have the opportunity to be picked up for one of the 3 team(s).

o    The last Monday of June we hold a Player Wind-up Hotdog BBQ at the Ottewell Hall.  Players will receive their Team/Individual pictures at this time.  All uniforms must be returned. 

o    All 9-10 yr olds are given the opportunity to try out for the All Star program in July.  Coaching staff will provide information as to date and time of tryouts.  

o    Registration Fee of $50.00 required for the All-Star program along with a copy of the players birth certificate, a signed Medical Release form and 3 copies of something with your address on it (Proof of Residency).

Tiger Goldstick Park on Baseline Road & Capilino Park at 109 Ave – 50th Street

o    This level of play is a bit more competitive than in Minors.  All players on the roster bat.

o    Experienced Umpires are at all games.  Parents are encouraged to applaud the good plays of BOTH teams.

o    Participants undergo evaluations and are subject to a player draft prior to season commencement.

o    Players have the opportunity to participate in several competitive tournaments during the House League Season.

o    The last Monday of June we hold a Player Wind-up Hotdog BBQ at the Ottewell Hall.  Players will receive their Team/Individual pictures at this time.  All uniforms must be returned.

o    All 11-12 yr olds are given the opportunity to try out for the All Star program in July.  Coaching staff will provide information as to date and time of tryouts.  

o    Registration Fee of $50.00 required for the All-Star program along with a copy of the players birth certificate, a signed Medical Release form and 3 copies of something with your address on it (Proof of Residency).

o    Players have the opportunity to participate in a few competitive tournaments during the House League program including our own May Long Weekend Tournament.

o    The last Monday of June we hold a Player Wind-up Hotdog BBQ at the Ottewell Hall.  Players will receive their Team/Individual pictures at this time.  All uniforms must be returned. (Teams still in play will be looked after at a later date)

Tiger Goldstick Park, Community Park, Millwoods & Confederation Park

& other venues in or outside the City

o    This division travels throughout the City for inter-league play with Confederation Park, Community Park and  
      Millwoods Little Leagues.  If there are not enough Little League Big League programs in the City, this division can
      play against teams within the Alberta Baseball program and other groups. Players in this group may travel a fair 
      amount during the weekends.

o    Players have the opportunity to participate in a few competitive tournaments during the House League season. 

o    The last Monday of June we hold a Player Wind-up Hotdog BBQ at the Ottewell Hall.  Players will receive their Team/Individual pictures at this time.  All uniforms must be returned. (Teams still in play will be looked after at a later date) 

o    All 17-18 yr olds are given the opportunity to try out for the All Star program.  19 yr olds cannot play All Stars.  Coaching staff will provide information as to date and time of tryouts.  

o    Registration Fee of $50.00 required for the All-Star program along with a copy of the players birth certificate, a signed Medical Release for and 3 copies of something with your address on it (Proof of Residency).

o    Should only one City Big League Team participate in house league District sponsors this team and there are no All-star Fees

o    Players have the opportunity to participate in a few competitive tournaments during the House League season.

o    The last Monday of June we hold a Player Wind-up Hotdog BBQ at the Ottewell Hall.  Players will receive their Team/Individual pictures at this time.  All uniforms must be returned. (Teams still in play will be looked after at a later date)
